Obituary for Roy Dalton Bennett
Roy Dalton Bennett, 78, of Bladenboro, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 28, 2013. He is preceded by his parents: Dalton and Elneta Bennett and a beloved son: Freddy Bennett. He is survived by his wife: Maria Bennett of the home, a son: Leroy Joseph "L.J." Bennett of Fayetteville, three brothers: Ray Bennett, Rodley Bennett, and Ted Edwards, all of Virginia and two special pets: Trixie and Hershey also of the home. He spent three years in the army, twenty three years in the air force and later retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. He led a successful career at Kelly Springfield. Mr. Bennett also was a long time amateaur radio opeator "HAM", call sign W4UOL. While stationed in Austria he met and married his wife, Maria. They have been happily married for 57 years. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31,2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Church. The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Church. Burial will follow at Bladen Memorial Garden Cemetery.
